I once had my computer go on the fritz, and had to completely reformat my computer (losing my data).

Fortunately, I had a backup to an external hard drive…or so I thought.

It turns out that the “backup” I had wasn’t complete.

It hadn’t backed up the folder that I needed to get to my QuickBooks file.

This was not good. I eventually got it all worked out.

If I remember right, I think I was able to restore a copy off my computer’s hard drive, but the scare was enough.

Backup Solutions for your Online Business

I’ve used backup solutions built into windows and Mac as well as online backup services such as Mozy and Backblaze.

Dropbox can be another way to keep backups of your most important files.

If you have a Mac, turn on TimeMachine and back up to an external hard drive or to a network drive or Time Capsule.

Whatever you choose to use, make sure to create a backup of your most important files even if it’s just making a copy to a thumb drive or external hard drive.

The last thing you want is for your business which relies on computers to go down because of a computer problem.
